  1. Beautiful, Rene. For a moment, an old man with a long beard who used to wander up and down MacDougal, between Bleecker and W. 3rd St. came to mind. But I'm thinking he was not as accessible as the "Pope." He used to mutter what seemed to me jibberish. But he was certainly biblical looking. I wish I knew who you refer to; I'm sure I saw him, too.

So wonderful that you talked and listened to this man. People like you and this man are the essence of NYC, as I knew it and remember it. As you go through his writing, please post stuff!

  2. Thank you, Eva....I will do that, after all it's part of the story. I need to figure out a way to give it -some- continuity; I hope his spirit won't start to haunt me for doing that! (forgive me Pope!!) Oh! yeah, this blog is acting kinda strange, now your picture and that of another member -Donna- are gone with the... wind maybe?

  3. Eva, you might not believe this, but it is the truth. I used to live in 160 Bleecker St.bet. Thompson and MacDougal. The place was called "The Atrium" and I can't believe you said that !!!
